Yann Renzi est né de parents italiens, à Genève. Il y fait toutes ses études jusqu'au BAC, et choisit autant que possible des matières artistiques. En parallèle, il s'investit dans une troupe de théâtre comme assistant à la mise-en-scène, et il réalise des films avec ses amis et camarades de lycée.
En 2005, il part au Canada pour suivre la formation professionnelle de l'École de Cinéma et Télévision de Québec. Son film de fin d'études, UNDERWATCHER, lui permet de sortir Major de l'année.
Dès 2007, de retour en Europe, il intègre l'Université pour poursuivre ses études en cinéma ; il obtient son Master 2 à la Faculté Paris 8 en 2013. Tout au long de son cursus, il continue à réaliser des courts-métrages, dont COOKIES, premier film qu'il exploite en festival ; le film est adopté pour deux ans par le Musée Alimentarium de Vevey (Fondation Nestlé), et diffusé dans l'exposition.
En 2011, dans le cadre de ses études, il réalise STELLE. Dès 2013, le court-métrage parcourt le monde et remporte de nombreux prix. Le film est utilisé comme manifeste et étendard de l'association de production que Yann Renzi fonde dans la foulée : Imagination Entertainment.
En 2014 commence la production de MUET, une histoire se déroulant dans les années folles et tournée comme un film de l'époque. Le court-métrage connait un joli succès dans le monde et remporte à son tour de nombreux prix.
Aujourd'hui, Yann Renzi oriente son travail vers la réalisation d'un long-métrage qui s'inscrit en plein dans la ligne éditoriale de son association de production, et vers la création d'une série télé, parmi d'autres projets.

Yann Renzi was born from Italian parents in Geneva, where he followed his school studies while choosing as many artistic subjects as possible. He was also heavily involved in a theatre company as assistant director, and shoots some amateur films with school friends.
In 2005, he moved to Canada and enrolled to the "École de Cinéma et Télévision" in Quebec. Thanks to the making of UNDERWATCHER, his school film assignment, he finished top of the class!
Back in Europe, in 2007, he entered the University of Paris VIII, where he obtained his master Degree. During that time, he directed several short films, including COOKIES, his first film to be nominated in festivals. COOKIES was also hosted for two years by the Alimentarium Museum of Vevey (Nestle Foundation) as part of their permanent exhibition.
STELLE was born in 2011 as part of his studies. From 2013, the film travels the world and is acclaimed in many festivals, claiming numerous awards. STELLE becomed the flagship of IMAGINATION ENTERTAINMENT, newly founded organisation by Yann Renzi.
2014 sees the production of MUET, a story taking place in "Roaring 20's", shooted in the old times' fashion. This short film immediately met success throughout the world, winning many awards
Today, Yann Renzi's life is buzzing with many projects, such as a feature film, and a TV series to name but a few. However he remains faithful to the editorial vision of Imagination Entertainment.
